Army Spc. Ahmed K. Altaie, 41, of Ann Arbor, Michigan (MISSING/CAPTURED)

Altaie has been unaccounted for since October 23, 2006 when he allegedly was kidnapped while on his way to visit family in Baghdad, Iraq.

Status up-date December 11, 2006: Altaie's status was changed from DUSTWUN to missing/captured.

He is assigned to the Provincial Reconstruction Team Baghdad.


Army Pvt. Jessica Lynch, 19, of Palestine, W. Virginia


RESCUED

Lynch and five other soldiers were taken prisoner when a supply convoy was ambushed in Iraq.

She was assigned to 507th Maintenance Company, Fort Bliss, Texas.


Army Spc. Edgar Hernandez, 21, Mission, Texas

Hernandez and five other soldiers were taken prisoner when a supply convoy was ambushed in Iraq.

He was assigned to 507th Maintenance Company, Fort Bliss, Texas.


Army Spc. Joseph Hudson, 23, Alamogordo, New Mexico

Army Pfc. Patrick Miller, 23, Park City, Kansas

Miller and five other soldiers were taken prisoner when a supply convoy was ambushed in Iraq.

Army Sgt. James Riley, 31, Pennsauken; New Jersey


RESCUED

Riley and five other soldiers were taken prisoner when a supply convoy was ambushed in Iraq.

He was assigned to 507th Maintenance Company, Fort Bliss, Texas.


Army Chief Warrant Officer 2 David S. Williams, 30, Orlando, Florida


RESCUED

Williams, was captured when his Apache helicopter went down during heavy fighting in central Iraq.

He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas.


Army Chief Warrant Officer 2 Ronald D. Young Jr., 26, Lithia Springs, Georgia


RESCUED

Young was a pilot on an Apache helicopter that was forced down during heavy fighting in central Iraq.

He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas.
